S @ Spark Arena

S @ Spark Arena – a new bar and performance space in Spark Arena where Spark customers can hang out and have a drink or two before a show. Designed by Izzard Design to enhance the concert experience for Spark customers before and after shows, and will occasionally host intimate concerts and product launches.

The bespoke design includes main bar, booth seating areas, stage/DJ booth and dance floor as well as a separate VIP area with an exterior deck. The main brief component for this project was tricky, “create a space that has a flexible environment that can change depending on the event at the Arena, rock concerts to basketball to comedians all requiring a different ambiance.” Not an easy thing to do, but achieved through clever use of lighting and a base palette of white that changes with the colour refraction, that has a pink room one minute, and a green room the next. An LED illuminated tunnel portal transports you into the S Bar from the arena and continues as illuminated framing through the bar to change the colour refraction throughout the entire space. Back lit mesh panels and colour change light boxes all continue the theme, making a flexible clever space reflecting the tech savvy nature of the client.
